Social Media
I am so happy right now! I mean, it feels pretty sucky to be missing a day of school because of strep throat, but I just found something really cool! I decided to look at the stats for all of my blogs and I found something amazing under Geek Girl's. Here are the stats:
If you can't read that, I have 10 separate countries, 10 separate browsers, and 9 separate operating systems that have viewed Geeky Girl! AMAZING! I promise that I will begin to blog more often, at least once a week. I have been so busy, you wouldn't believe it! By the end of this week, I shouldn't be as much, so I will try to be better about this. If you'd like to see more awesome things follow me on my Instagram account: @emmalovesbooks and on my alternative account: @buddythecactus (He's my cactus pinata.) I'm always posting things on there, so keep watch for me!
Sincerely,
Geeky Girl

How Long Does It Take?
We have all seen the Tootsie Pop commercial with, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?". Nobody really knows the answer and has shared it with the world. That is going to change...
In the original commercial, there's a kid who asks an owl the question above. The owl takes his lollipop, licks three times, and then eats the lollipop, ending the commercial. The kid gets sad because the owl stole his lollipop and voila!- it's over. Technically, you can't get an exact answer. Some people may take longer licks or shorter, faster ones. Some people might accidentally break off a piece, messing it up. There are just too many variables to get the same answer every time. There must be an average, but I don't know it. That is what I will figure out...
This lady goes way further than I did here: http://blog.minitab.com/blog/statistics-in-the-field/how-many-licks-to-the-tootsie-roll-center-of-a-tootsie-pop-part-2
She said her answers ranged significantly and when cutting some down the middle, found that each lollipop was not exactly the same. This is why that question cannot be answered unless you have the average or mean.
I actually found this post while I was looking for a picture to put up and went,"Wow! I guess I won't have to eat any lollipops!"
I hope you enjoyed this post and will enjoy the posts to come!
Sincerely,
Emma (A.K.A. GeekyGirl)

Summer
Summer break has ended and vacations are over. It's sad but true. You may have also realized that it's still hot! Well, here are some ways to beat the heat, whether you use it now or next summer!
1. Spend the day at an indoor ice rink.
2. Read a book with a snowy setting.
3.Get pretend money from a board game and put it in a pile. Then stick it in front of a fan and let it blow. See who can catch the most money!
4.Make some fruit slush! Put 1/4 cup water, 1 cup fresh strawberry slices, and 1 cup ice cubes in a blender. blend well and pour in a glass.
5. Play cold potato in a kiddie pool with a small block of ice.
6.In this race, each person holds a frisbee with a water balloon inside over their head with one hand. The first person to reach the other end of the yard wins.
7. Freeze grapes and berries. Pop some in a drink. The fruits will make it cool and you can eat it too!
8. Have a hunt for glow in the dark plastic stars in your backyard right after the sun sets.
9.Put a bowl of ice in front of a fan and turn it on.
10. Take turns getting your hair wet and giving each other funny hairstyles.

So Busy!
Me: Guess what?
You: What?
Me: EVERYTHING!
Dear Geekers,
I have been so busy! I have been playing volleyball and basketball, I'm in a play, and so much more!
The play is called the emperor's new clothes. I must tell you about when the play is and how you need to go to it. Here is the link to get tickets:
My birthday was just a few days ago and I got some of the best presents ever. For example, I got a smartphone! It is awesome. In two days is my party and it is going to be great!
You: That was everything huh?
Me: What? What's wrong with that?
You: EVERYTHING!
Me: Name one reason.
You: Uhhhh.....
Me: I thought so.
You: Hey! You didn't say much anyways.
Me: ..... (gone and typing this all)
I just realized that wasn't everything! I wanted to tell you my geeky dream. To read my letter from Hogwarts while walking into the TARDIS. What about you?
Your GeekyGirl,
Emma
